Dear Great Lakes Colleagues:

Please register now for the 52nd annual International Association for
Great Lakes Research annual conference to be held May 18-22, 2009 on
the beautiful University of Toledo campus. Our theme is "Bridging
Ecosystems and Environmental Health Across Our Great Lakes" with over
530 presentations - one of the largest IAGLR conferences in recent
history. http://www.iaglr.org/conference

Your pre-conference registration includes free campus parking and all
events: welcome reception (drink ticket) with Italian light meal and
planetarium show on Monday May 18, poster and exhibitor reception on
Tuesday May 19 evening (Mexican food, Margaritas, drink ticket)
followed by the 2nd annual US-Canada Hockey game, sit-down business
lunch on Wednesday May 20 and evening banquet at the beautiful
Pinnacle in Maumee (drink ticket, gourmet meal, wine), and barbeque
meal at the award-winning Toledo Zoo on Thursday May 21 (polar bear
exhibit open, train ride through Africa, drink ticket, great meal and
friends). We thus offer the most for your valuable research grant,
university, and agency dollars!

Our scenic campus is only a 45 minutes close drive from Ann Arbor and
Detroit, 1 hour from Win dsor, 2 hours from Cleveland, 2.5 hours from
Columbus, and 4 hours from Chicago. We are in close proximity to the
Toledo or Detroit Airports.

Optional free field trips are featured on Friday afternoon (Lake Erie
Center/Lake Guardian=2 0tour or Oak Openings Tour), a guided bird
watch by famed ornithologist Dr. Tramer on Thursday morning, and a
guided rain garden tour by Dr. Gottgens on Wednesday morning.

We offer VERY nice and very reasonable housing in our NEW dorms on
campus or close-by hotels. Housing will cost you less than any other
conferences! No need to drive and waste carbon - our conference buses
will be running! This is a green earth-friendly conference! Bring
your bicycle or roller blades for our wonderful bike paths and
metroparks! Conference registration fees are the same as for the past
two years, and offer more for your dollar (US or Canadian) than ever
before!

We look forward to seeing you in 1.5 weeks in Toledo - the gateway
between the upper and lower Great Lakes!

Register now by May 9 to save and network with your Great Lakes
research friends and colleagues!
