Relief For Recreational Boating
www.greatlakesboating.com

In the $475 million incentive package there is no mention of help to
recreational boating with its 4.3 million registered boaters. We are being
advised that even though the legislative intent is still pending, nothing is
earmarked for recreational boating.

Recreational boating is big business with its estimated economic impact of
$9 to $16 billion.

It is the best gift to local tourism and is a great family sport and hobby.

Many of the breakwaters on major marina infrastructures are in decay. The
Army Corps of Engineers remains committed to the dredging of commercial
harbors but is indifferent to the dredging needs of recreational harbors.

Recent economic data places commercial navigation at $3.6 billion, less than
one third of that of recreational boating.
