NEMWLogo Weekly Update 16 November 2009 * Abstracts Sought for Watershed Management Conference * Upper Mississippi River Basin Association Quarterly Meeting * National Brownfields 2009 Conference * Midwest Fish and Wildlife Conference Abstracts Sought for Watershed Management Conference The American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) is seeking abstracts for a conference they are sponsoring entitled TMDL 2010: <http://www.asabe.org/meetings/tmdl2010/index.htm> Watershed Management to Improve Water Quality. The conference will be held in Baltimore, MD, on November 14-17, 2010. The deadline for submitting abstracts is December 1. The conference will be the fifth in a series sponsored by ASABE focusing on watershed management and TMDLs (Total Maximum Daily Load) to address water quality issues. The purpose of the conference is to report ongoing research and outreach efforts related to TMDL development and implementation, and watershed management in general. Upper Mississippi River Basin Association Quarterly Meeting The Upper Mississippi River Basin Association (UMRBA) is having its next quarterly meeting this week on November 17-19 in Rock Island, Illinois. National Brownfields 2009 Conference The National Brownfields <http://www.brownfields2009.org/en/index.aspx> 2009 Conference is being held this week on November 16-18 at the Morial Convention Center, in New Orleans, Louisiana. The National Brownfields Conference is the largest, most comprehensive conference focused on cleaning up and redeveloping abandoned, underutilized, and potentially contaminated properties in the nation. Free registration gains access to more than 150 educational and learning opportunities, outstanding plenary sessions, 200 exhibitors, scores of networking events, special training sessions, film screenings, book signings, and more. Midwest Fish and Wildlife Conference The 2009 Midwest <http://www.dnr.state.il.us/Midwest/index.htm> Fish and Wildlife Conference will be held at the Hilton Hotel, 700 East Adams Street, Springfield, Illinois, on December 6-9. The purpose of the conference is to share new research, management experiences, and valuable insight on fish and wildlife issues.
