Now is the time to register <https://www.glc.org/meeting/register1.html>
for the Great Lakes Commission Annual Meeting, to be held September 29-30 in
Erie, Pennsylvania. Online meeting registration, agenda, and travel and
lodging information are available at www.glc.org/meeting. 

Day one of the meeting will focus on the $475 million Great Lakes
Restoration Initiative (GLRI), including a presentation by Cameron Davis,
senior advisor to U.S. EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson and federal officials.
State recommendations on implementation plans for the GLRI will be reviewed
and finalized. A panel of national experts on water conservation and the
energy and water nexus will highlight day two, along with presentations and
discussion on ballast water treatment and control, and the future of the
Great Lakes Water Quality Agreement. 

Meeting events will be held at the Bayfront Convention Center (1 Sassafras
Pier; Erie, PA 16507), which is connected via walkway to the Sheraton Erie
Bayfront Hotel. Rooms at the hotel may be reserved at the special rate of
$129 by calling the hotel directly and referencing the Great Lakes
Commission. To receive the special rate, your room must be reserved by
