NOAA selected these 50 projects from a pool of 814 proposals, totaling more than $3 billion in requests. Under the Recovery Act, NOAA was provided $167 million for marine and coastal habitat restoration. The Thursday morning celebration takes place as the NOAA administrator, Dr. Jane Lubchenco, and key partners and supporters of the Muskegon Lake project come together to celebrate Earth Day and the jobs created by Recovery Act funding.
