NOAA's Dr. Jane Lubchenco To Join Ceremony At Torresen Marine Today

Torresen Marine will host NOAA Administrator, Dr. Jane Lubchenco, at a Solar Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, as part of an Earth Day celebration.  Lubchenco will tour Torresen's facility and learn more about the Michigan Clean Marina Program. Torresen is among the more than 35 marinas that have have achieved certification as a Michigan Clean Marina.

Lubchenco's visit will help kick off a $10 million shoreline restoration of Muskegon Lake to enhance fish, wildlife and plant habitat. Muskegon Lake is one of more than 30 coastal restoration Recovery Act projects that have broken ground, since June 2009.

The Michigan Clean Marina Program is managed cooperatively by representatives from the Michigan Boating Industry Association, state government and Michigan Sea Grant. The program is supported by the Michigan Clean Marina Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization.
