Hi folks-

I wanted you all to be aware that while we were busy last week with our
strategic plan, the federal funding opportunity for the Community-based
Marine Debris Prevention and Removal Grants Program (partnership between
MDP and RC) opened
(http://www.habitat.noaa.gov/funding/marinedebris.html).  As the name
implies, this call is for locally driven, community-based marine debris
prevention and removal projects that benefit coastal habitat, waterways,
and wildlife including migratory fish.  Our first Great Lakes project
came out of this call last year!  If you know of any organizations or
communities that have an interest in debris in the Great Lakes, please
pass along the information.  I'm trying to reach out to the region as
much as possible!
