* * * Videos and PowerPoints are now available from the April 2010 conference, "Climate Change Vulnerabilities and Opportunities: Michigan and Beyond," at Michigan State University. The material is available on the symposium Website (http://www.environment.msu.edu/climatechange/symposium.php), linked to the agenda. The conference addressed the impacts of climate change within and beyond Michigan, and how Michigan can respond. The conference also considered issues related to the bioeconomy, especially the use of biomass as a renewable resource. A focus of the symposium was Michigan's Climate Action Plan, launched in 2009 and intended to guide the State's action on climate change. The conference reviewed current action in key areas of MCAP and looked at how to move it forward. The symposium also examined what climate change means in diverse segments of society and the environment, from agriculture and health to transportation. We hope the materials will prove useful. Note: Interviews, videos, and PowerPoints are also available from MSU's year-long climate speaker series, which brought to campus world-renowned speakers on different aspects of climate change (http://www.environment.msu.edu/climatechange/lecture.php). All events were sponsored by the Michigan Agricultural Experiment Station and organized by the Environmental Science and Policy Program, Michigan State University. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
