President Obama has made restoring and protecting the Great Lakes a national priority. To meet the goals we've set the President proposed and Congress approved hundreds of millions of dollars for community-based projects to revitalize and protect the Great Lakes. These investments we are making will take two forms - funding to other federal agencies and EPA's own Grant program. The first round of grants under the EPA's program will be awarded through late summer and early fall 2010.
