The conference will convene members of the regional wetland community to
discuss the latest in wetland science, management and protection issues as
they relate to the ecological services wetlands provide.

*        Keynote address by noted landscape ecologist Dr. Lenore Fahrig
(Carleton University, Canada)

*        National Symposium:  Wetland Buffers: Theory, Science, Policy, and
Implementation, organized by Dr. Raymond Semlitsch (University of Missouri)

*        Banquet presentation by Dr. Carl Safina, award-winning author,
marine ecologist, and founding president of the Blue Ocean Institute.
(Please note that the banquet is a ticketed event that is open to the
public; it is not included in the basic registration fee.)

*        Topical oral sessions

*        Silent Auction fundraiser featuring wetland-related art,
photography, books, and more

*        Wetland field trips

*        Working Groups: Wetland Mitigation Science & Practice and Wetland
Buffers
