            GLIN's February Site of the Month is OurWaterlife.com which promotes Waterlife, a feature-length documentary film that follows the cascade of the Great Lakes to the Atlantic Ocean. The film and its interactive website highlight the dangers of taking water for granted, and illustrate how the Great Lakes are under assault by toxins, sewage, invasive species, dropping water levels and profound apathy.

            The Great Lakes Inventory and Monitoring Network is part of the U.S. National Park Service's strategy to improve park management through greater reliance on scientific information.


           
           Great Lakes Binational Toxics Strategy

            The 2008-9 Great Lakes Binational Toxics Strategy report (Canada - United States Strategy for the Virtual Elimination of Persistent Toxic Substances in the Great Lakes Basin) is now online.


           
           Stop Asian carp

            Sign the online petition to stop Asian carp from entering the Great Lakes. The petition is a project of Mich. Attorney General Mike Cox and will be presented to President Obama.


           
           FLOW: Fisheries Learning on the Web

            FLOW is a comprehensive curriculum about the Great Lakes ecosystem with three core units: food web, water and fish. FLOW is geared toward upper elementary and middle school educators.


           
            National Lakes Assessment
            www.epa.gov/lakessurvey 

            EPA recently released its first-ever baseline study of U.S. lakes. It is the agency's most comprehensive study of national lakes to date.
