Call for Nominations for the John R. "Jack" Vallentyne Award - Deadline Mar 19, 2010 The International Association for Great Lakes Research (IAGLR) is soliciting nominations for the John R. (Jack) Vallentyne Award. This award is named after and dedicated to the late Dr. John R. (Jack) Vallentyne who had a long and distinguished career as a scientist, but also dedicated decades of work to education and outreach Individuals or teams eligible for this award should have contributed substantially to the education and outreach in the Great Lakes community (children and/or adults) for 20 years or more and their outreach accomplishments should be beyond the local community. Deserving candidates can be from any Great Lakes of the world, including North American Great Lakes, African Great Lakes or other Great Lakes. Educators, environmental journalists, and others bridging the gap between the science community and an informed, involved public are eligible for this award. Membership in IAGLR is not necessary.
