2009 Annual Report of the Cooperative Lakes Monitoring Program

The Michigan Clean Water Corps (MiCorps) is pleased to announce the release
of the 2009 Annual Summary Report of the Cooperative Lakes Monitoring
Program (CLMP). Visit www.micorps.net/lakereports.html
<http://www.micorps.net/lakereports.html> to download the report and view
the data collected for your lake.

The Michigan Department of Natural Resources & Environment (DNRE) and
Michigan Lake and Stream Associations, Inc. (ML&SA), recently joined by the
Great Lakes Commission and the Huron River Watershed Council, have partnered
to implement the Cooperative Lakes Monitoring Program (CLMP). The purpose of
this effort is to help citizen volunteers monitor indicators of water
quality in their lake and document changes in lake quality. The CLMP
provides sampling methods, training, workshops, technical support, quality
control, and laboratory assistance to the volunteer monitors. Michigan State
University's Department of Fisheries and Wildlife supports the partnership
with technical assistance. Please visit the MiCorps website (www.micorps.net
<outbind://62-00000000e23ed3510b75444f86ca6583aae6d715e45f2f00/> ) to learn
more about the volunteer work supported under this program.

  <http://micorps.net/email/images/micorps-logo.gif> The Michigan Clean
Water Corps (MiCorps <http://micorps.net/> ) was created through an
executive order by Governor Jennifer M. Granholm to assist the Department of
Natural Resources & Environment (DNRE) (formerly the Department of
Environmental Quality) in collecting and sharing water quality data for use
in water resources management and protection programs.
