The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and University of Wisconsin - Extension are pleased to release the Draft Environmental Impact Statement and Draft Management Plan (DEIS/DMP) for the proposed Federal designation of the Lake Superior National Estuarine Research Reserve. Copies of the DEIS/DMP are available on the NERRS website at <blocked::https://mail.nos.noaa.gov/www.nerrs.noaa.gov> http://www.nerrs.noaa.gov/<blocked::http://www.nerrs.noaa.gov/Doc/PDF/Reserve/LakeSuperiorNERR.pdf> and upon request to the NOAA Estuarine Reserves Division.

Public review of the document is an important part of the process.  Comments made at the public meeting and in writing will inform development of the Final Environmental Impact Statement.  NOAA Estuarine Reserves Division will hold a public hearing at 7:00pm on July 8, 2010 at the University of Wisconsin-Superior, Yellowjacket Union, Great Room, 1605 Catlin Avenue, Superior, WI 54880.
