Quality Management Training Modules have been developed to foster awareness of EPA’s quality system and train staff on implementation of quality for EPA projects. The training modules assist individuals with direct quality management responsibilities as well as individuals responsible for conducting projects and ensuring quality is incorporated into those projects. The workshop reviews characteristics, benefits, authorities and requirements of the EPA Quality System and how to assess the stage of a quality system. Responsibilities, approaches and tools (quality documentation) for implementing quality systems are discussed. Data Quality Act/Information Quality Guidelines / http://greatlakesrestoration.us/?p=930 / This two-hour workshop provides background information and descriptions of Information Quality Guidelines (IQGs), detail what information is subject to IQGs, and the relationship of the Data Quality Act and IQGs. Assessment factors for evaluating the quality of scientific and technical information is reviewed, including peer review. Pre-dissemination review and correction processed is explained and examples provided. Systematic Planning and Quality Documentation for Projects using Existing Data / http://greatlakesrestoration.us/?p=945 / This two-hour workshop focuses on the importance of systematic planning, assessment, and corrective action for projects using existing data. The workshop reviews the steps of developing clear project objectives, a plan to meet those objectives and proper documentation of these efforts within project quality documentation. An overview of EPA quality requirements for projects using existing data is discussed and quality documentation checklists and templates specific to projects utilizing secondary data is provided and reviewed.
