Join the Ohio Environmental Council, OEFFA, Edible Columbus, Local Matters and others for the Ohio Environmental Council's Green Screen environmental film series. The next movie in this monthly environmental film series, which takes place the first Wednesday of every month, will be The Garden. This academy-nominated movie tells the story of the country's largest urban farm, located in Los Angeles, and the struggles of the workers to protect it. The Garden explores backroom deals, green politics, money, power, poverty, and racial discord. Who: Green Screen is sponsored by WCBE 90.5. All proceeds will benefit the Ohio Environmental Council (OEC). When: Wednesday, July 7 at 7 p.m. Where: The Gateway Film Center at 1550 N. High St. in the South Campus Gateway at OSU in Columbus. Parking can be found in the gateway garage. Bicycle racks are also available. Background: Before the movie, there will be cocktails at the Martini Shot Bistro, located within the film center, and partnering organizations will be on-hand. The pre-show will also focus on the selected movie theme and will offer an opportunity for local businesses and organizations to collaborate. The post-show will include interviews and Q&A sessions with the film producers and directors, host giveaways, and more. Cost: $8.50 for adults, $5 for students.
