The Honorable Stanford E. Parris, RIP
The Great Lakes-St. Lawrence Seaway maritime community and the United States House
of Representatives lost one of its most noteworthy leaders this weekend when the
 Honorable Stanford E. Parris passed away in his home in Hudgins, VA early on the
morning of Saturday, March 27th.

Stan Parris was very much a self-made man who rose from his relatively humble beginnings
in Champaign, IL to become a highly-decorated fighter pilot during the Korean War,
an attorney, a member of the Fairfax County, Virginia Board of Supervisors, a member
of the Virginia House of Delegates, the Secretary of the Commonwealth of Virginia,
a six-term member of the U.S. House of Representatives and the Administrator of 
the Saint Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation from 1991-1994.
