* Help capture a stewardship vision . . . *

You are invited to attend one of our upcoming trail workshops. During these
gatherings you will be able to help refine our potential coastal trail
route, suggest sites of interest to include in our Coastal Stewardship Trail
proposal, and ask questions.

The Carolinian Canada Coalition (CCC) is embarking on a 3-year program to
plan a Coastal Stewardship Trail along Lake Erie’s north shore. Our proposal
will build on existing trail segments and identify other potential routes in
Essex, Chatham-Kent, Elgin, Norfolk, Haldimand and Niagara.
This “Carolinian Coast” is rich in biodiversity, home to globally
significant habitats, and boasts some of country’s highest concentrations of
species at risk.

Our goal is to boost stewardship efforts by fostering understanding,
appreciation and enjoyment of this shared coastal ecosystem. Our trail
planning initiative will also explore ways to strengthen multi-sector
collaboration and make ecologically-minded landscape changes. We know a
trail can do more than join point “A” to “B”. Your presence during this
planning phase is critical for capturing a greater vision.

Feel free to attend any session. Workshops will focus on the regions nearest
to the workshop, but comments for the entire project area will be accepted
at each session.

*Open houses* will include introductory presentations followed by Q&A
sessions. *Workshops* will be interactive and all 6 workshops will cover
similar topics. Those attending workshops should plan to attend the open
house for an introduction to the project.
