$4.3 million awarded in sediment reduction grants supported by GLRI 
Nine Great Lakes Restoration Initiative (GLRI) watershed grants totaling
more than $4.3 million to reduce sediment pollution in priority watersheds
in the Great Lakes basin were announced Sept. 7 by the Great Lakes
Commission (GLC) and the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture Natural Resources
Conservation Service (NRCS) at a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency-hosted
event in Toledo, Ohio.

Great Lakes Wind Collaborative annual meeting to be held Sept. 19-21 
The Great Lakes Wind Collaborative's 3rd Annual Meeting will be held in
Cleveland, Sept. 19-21, hosted by the Case Western Reserve University Great
Lakes Energy Institute and facilitated by the Great Lakes Commission.

2010 Areas of Concern meeting to convene in Buffalo Sept. 22-23 
The 2010 Annual Meeting for the U.S. Great Lakes Areas of Concern (AOC)
Program, Advancing Restoration Actions under the Great Lakes Restoration
Initiative, will be held Sept. 22-23 at the Adam's Mark Hotel in Buffalo.
The meeting is being held in conjunction with the 6th Annual Healing Our
Waters Great Lakes Restoration Conference being held September 22-24 at the
