About the Conference
The Michigan Clean Water Corps (MiCorps) conference and training is an
annual event featuring afternoon training sessions (free of charge) for
interested volunteer coordinators on Monday, October 18th, and presentations
and dialogue on lake and stream monitoring activities in Michigan on
Tuesday, October 19th.

This year's conference will feature a keynote presentation by Dr. Alan D.
Steinman, Director of the Robert B. Annis Water Resources Institute (AWRI)
at Grand Valley State University, as well as presentations from volunteers
from across the state of Michigan. We will celebrate the amazing work that
is being done by MiCorps volunteers and take a closer look at some of the
targeted uses of monitoring efforts around the state to protect Michigan's
lakes and streams. In addition, the conference will include presentations
and training from regional experts, MiCorps staff and the Michigan
Department of Natural Resources and Environment.

Who Should Attend
The conference is intended for volunteer monitoring program leaders, citizen
volunteers, water resource professionals, and others interested in the
health and protection of Michigan's rivers, lakes and streams.

  <http://micorps.net/email/images/micorps-logo.gif> The Michigan Clean
Water Corps (MiCorps <http://micorps.net/> ) was created through an
executive order by Governor Jennifer M. Granholm to assist the Department of
Natural Resources and Environment (DNRE) (formerly the Department of
Environmental Quality) in collecting and sharing water quality data for use
in water resources management and protection programs.
