The Coastal Zone 2011 organizers are still looking for volunteers, from those attending the conference, to help moderate sessions. Please refer to the original request below. Also, registration for the conference is slated to open this coming Monday (April 04). -------- Original Message -------- Subject: CZ11 Requests: need CZ11 Moderators & audio visual monitors by Wed 3/30/11 Date: Fri, 25 Mar 2011 17:18:39 -0400 From: Lynne Mersfelder <Lynne.Mersfelder at noaa.gov> To: Lynn Greer <Lynn.M.Greer at usace.army.mil> CC: Ralph Cantral <Ralph.Cantral at noaa.gov> Hello, There are approximately 60 slots for moderators for the CZ11 conference and a need for 13-20 room monitors for the audio visual needs of the sessions and presentations per day. 1) Session Moderators Can you please let Lynn Greer know if you are interested and give her 3 or more possible sessions you would be interested to moderate using the attached list by no later than Tuesday, March 29? Please forward this note on to other colleagues who may be interested or need a justification to attend. Lynn may ask you to moderate more than one session but likely just one - as this will serve as a justification for attendance for some - and there may be a need to spread this responsibility out. 2) Audio visual monitors Lynn and I are also seeking audio visual monitors for the rooms who would make sure the projector is working and call if there is a problem. Where possible, the moderator can also do this job if that person is comfortable. The list of duties for the room monitors follows: Audio visual and Speaker ready room - duties : A) The conference will need 13-20 staff a day to monitor the sessions and run the audio visual. The duties are simple and will allow the staff to attend the session they are interested in attending. Duties include placing the session CD disc (with the power point presentations) in the computer, checking the presentations load, running the power point projector if needed, calling for assistance if there is a problem, coordinating with the session moderator and the speaker ready room coordinators, handing out and collecting the laser pointers, and other similar duties. Please respond to Lynn Greer <Lynn.M.Greer at usace.army.mil> and I. Thanks and happy weekend!
