At last week's Watershed Summit in Lansing, the Muskegon River Watershed (MRW) research was mentioned. The Muskegon Watershed Research Partnership (MWRP) was formed in August 2000, when 50 researchers in the field of ecosystem analysis and watershed management met with stakeholders, government officials, and philanthropic organizations. Millions of dollars was given to fund different research projects in the MRW. Research results have been published in eight bulletins entitled, 1) Mega Model Forecasting, 2) Managing the Land, 3) Erosion & Sediment, 4) Dams & Fishes, 5) Land Use Trend in the Muskegon River Watershed, 6) Hydrologic Modeling, 7) Climate Change, and 8) Riparian Land Management. For those interested in reading about the research, the eight bulletins can be found in the data repository on the Muskegon River Watershed Assembly website under "Muskegon Futures" - http://www.mrwa.org/repository/repository-mrw-general-research.htm# Terry Stilson MRWA Program Coordinator @Ferris State University 1009 Campus Drive, JOH 303 Big Rapids, MI 49307-2280 Phone: (231) 591-2324 Fax: (231) 591-2306 Website: http://www.mrwa.org
