The Sea Grant Program at the University of Minnesota, Duluth, seeks a Climate
Change Extension Educator. The position is 50% time with a 12-month
appointment beginning January 9, 2012. Job duties and responsibilities
include engaging Lake Superior coastal communities in Minn. and Wisc. in
identifying climate change adaptation needs and other climate
change-related education and outreach. Essential qualifications include a
bachelor's degree with emphasis on environmental studies or science, urban
and regional planning, public policy, geography, climatology,
civil/environmental engineering, natural resource management, environmental
education, biology, or other fields related to climate change, and 3 years
work or graduate school experience in one of the above mentioned areas, or
a similar field. A master's degree in one of the above fields, and
demonstrated knowledge of climate change, experience in communicating
science information to non-scientists, and experience in providing training
to diverse audiences is also acceptable.
