Please join us for the following webinar on January 25, 2012:

"Restoring Aquatic Connectivity in the Great Lakes Basin: Key Issues and Lessons Learned"

Connectivity among aquatic habitats is critical for the health of our waterways and the condition of our fisheries. Today, however, barriers such as dams and poorly performing culverts block passage of aquatic organisms in most of the rivers and streams of the Great Lakes basin. The restoration of aquatic connectivity in these systems is receiving increasing attention, and the issue is a key funding priority for Sustain Our Great Lakes.

Sustain Our Great Lakes will host this webinar as a venue to explore critical issues associated with restoration of aquatic connectivity in the Great Lakes basin. Issues to be discussed include the importance and challenges of:

 *   community engagement and support
 *   invasive species management
 *   sediment and contaminants management
 *   project prioritization

Drawing from case studies selected to highlight each of these issues, experts will share their experiences and lessons learned. The webinar is intended to be informative for restoration practitioners, potential grant applicants, other funders, and anyone with an interest in aquatic connectivity work.

The webinar will begin at 10 AM Eastern Time/9 AM Central Time and last for approximately 2 hours.
