You are invited to attend ... NOAA's GLRI Check-Up: Assessing the Health of the Great Lakes How is NOAA using Great Lakes Restoration Initiative funding to restore the Great Lakes? In 2010, President Obama announced $475 million in new funding for his Great Lakes Restoration Initiative, the largest investment in the Great Lakes in two decades. From the GLRI, NOAA received funding for 17 projects, totaling $29.72 million in 2010. Now that the period of performance is ending, it is time to review the work done and how it has contributed to restoration of the Great Lakes and the GLRI Action Plan. Objectives for the event include: 1. present the status of NOAA 2010 GLRI projects; 2. encourage active discussion about past performance and future directions among program managers, project leads, collaborators and key stakeholders; 3. provide an opportunity for interaction among attendees, across focus areas and organizations; and 4. provide basis for written annual NOAA GLRI report.
