St. Louis River Environmental Stewardship Award Nominations Sought

DULUTH, Minn. - The St. Louis River Alliance (SLRA) is seeking nominations
for its 2011 Environmental Stewardship Awards. These annual awards recognize
the people, communities and institutions that have provided outstanding
service toward restoring, protecting and enhancing the St. Louis River and
its watersheds.

"Clean water and a healthy St. Louis River are essential components of our
region's quality of life and economic vitality," said Julene Boe, director
of the SLRA. "Many citizens of the region make contributions toward
achieving this quality of life for everyone through their work, business
decisions, community involvement and personal lifestyles."

Stewardship efforts can be nominated that have occurred over the past few
years within the watershed of the lower St. Louis, Nemadji or western end of
Lake Superior. Categories include individuals; organizations; schools;
local, state, tribal and federal agencies; business and industry; and the
news media. Self-nominations are accepted.

Nominations forms can be accessed from the SLRA website at
<http://www.stlouisrver.org> www.stlouisrver.org or by calling (218)
733-9520. Nominations must be received by March 15, 2011.

The awards ceremony will be held on Tuesday, April 5, 2011. For more
information, contact the SLRA office (218) 733-9520.
