ST LOUIS RIVER ALLIANCE NEWS RELEASE 1/12/11 Contact: Julene Boe, (218) 733-9520 St. Louis River Alliance Holds Annual Meeting The public is invited to attend the St. Louis River Alliance's annual meeting on Thursday, January 20, from 6:45 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. at the Superior Public Library (1530 Tower Ave.) A special volunteer recognition ceremony and reception will be held during the meeting, along with a report of highlights from 2010 and plans for the future. The event is free. The Environmental Stewardship Awards Ceremony usually held in conjunction with this meeting will take place on April 5. The St. Louis River Alliance is a local nonprofit organization of citizens and groups working together to restore, protect and enhance the St. Louis River. The St. Louis River is the headwaters to Lake Superior and the Great Lakes, which hold 20 percent of the world's fresh water and form the largest freshwater ecosystem on Earth.
