SMALL SCALE PROJECTS

The Great Lakes Commission is pleased to announce the Great Lakes
Basin Program for Soil Erosion and Sediment Control 2011 Request
for Proposal (RFP) for small scale erosion and sediment reduction
demonstration and information and education (I&E) projects.
Applications for proposals are due no later than April 15, 2011.

and the on-line application process. Click the button "Apply for
Grants" in the upper right hand corner.  

An estimated ten to fifteen projects will be funded for up to
$30,000 ($10,000 for I&E) each. Projects can be up to 24 months in
duration. 

PLEASE NOTE: due to the uncertainty of Congress' 2011
appropriation process, funding may be eliminated, reduced or
delayed beyond the normal timeframe.  Please check the website
regularly for updates.

WATERSHED SCALE PROJECTS

The Great Lakes Commission is also pleased to announce the Great
Lakes Basin Program for Soil Erosion and Sediment Control 2011
Request for Proposal (RFP) for watershed scale projects.
Applications for proposals are due no later than April 15, 2011.
Please visit our website at www.glc.org/basin for the complete RFP
and the on-line application process. Click the button "Apply for
Grants" in the upper right hand corner.  

It is anticipated around $2,000,000 will be available to fund
approximately 5-7 watershed-scale grants up to $500,000 per
project. Funding will be available for both technical assistance
and financial assistance.  The projects will be three years in
duration.

Funding is provided by the U.S. EPA's Great Lakes Restoration
Initiative (GLRI) through the U.S. Department of Agriculture, as
authorized under the Food, Conservation, and Energy Act of 2008
with administration provided by the Great Lakes Commission (GLC).
All projects must be explicitly relevant to the reduction of
sedimentation into the Great Lakes.  

PLEASE NOTE: Funding will be based on Congressional appropriations
for the program for 2011. Please check the website regularly for
updates.
