started their adventures! The excitement begins this week with
Argonaut
Boot Camp in Mystic, CT. There, they will learn skills such as working as a
team, appearing live on-camera, and how to best adapt to life aboard a
vessel of exploration! This fall, the Argonauts will set off on the *E/V
Nautilus* to explore the topic of oceanography. Alongside Dr. Robert Ballard
and Dr. Katy Croff Bell, they'll explore ancient shipwrecks, strange
undersea lifeforms, and curious geologic formations.****

*JASON Argonaut Alumni Updates*****

** **

More than 500 students and educators have served as National Argonauts since
JASON's founding in 1989. The program is the only one of its kind in the
world, and a very significant contributor to our worldwide community of
learners.****


Now, an Argonaut Committee is being formed to harness the collective power
of our Argos. Led by Jude Kesl, the former Argonaut program coordinator and
Science Teaching Specialist in Milwaukee Public Schools in collaboration
with Dr. Eleanor Smalley JASON's Executive Vice President and Chief
Operating Officer, the team will plan annual meetings, create a Facebook
site, and continue to track the educational and career choices of Argonaut
alumni. ****


Joining Jude on the committee are veteran educators Caroline Joyce, Pam
Locasio, Sharon Pearson, Cindy McGlynn, and Pat Ziegelbauer, with student
Argonauts to be named shortly.****
