GLIN==> Dereth Glance takes oath of office as IJC Commissioner

At a meeting of the International Joint Commission (IJC) today,
Commissioner Dereth Glance made a solemn declaration to faithfully and
impartially perform the duties assigned under the Boundary Waters
Treaty. Ms. Glance was appointed to the IJC by President Barack Obama
and confirmed by the United States Senate. 

Previously Ms. Glance was the Executive Program Director for Citizens
Campaign for the Environment where she also served on New York State's
Great Lakes Basin Advisory Council, the Clean Water Network and the
Onondaga Lake Partnership Outreach Committee. Ms. Glance also served
from 2005-2011 as Board Member on the Onondaga County Resource Recovery
Agency where she chaired the Recycling Committee. 

Ms. Glance attended Michigan State University where she earned a
Bachelors Degree in Political Theory and Constitutional Democracy.  Ms.
Glance was born in Michigan, raised in the Metro-Detroit area, and
resides in Syracuse, New York.  

The International Joint Commission prevents and resolves disputes
between the United States of America and Canada under the 1909 Boundary
Waters Treaty and pursues the common good of both countries as an
independent and objective advisor to the two governments.
