SyracuseCoE Symposium 2011 Call for Abstracts DEADLINE: EXTENDED to June 15, 2011 The Syracuse Center of Excellence (SyracuseCoE) is accepting proposals for its 11th annual Symposium on Environmental and Energy Systems, to be held Sept. 22-23 at the Oncenter Complex in Syracuse, NY. In addition to a full schedule of plenary speakers, session tracks and workshops, this year's Symposium will also feature a special student poster competition on Sept. 21 at the SyracuseCoE headquarters. SyracuseCoE invites proposals from professionals and students from the academic, industry, and research sectors, as well as community organizations. Eric Richard Keune, A.I.A., LEED A.P., Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP has been invited as a keynote to talk about his Great Lakes Vision. Presentations are welcome in all areas of research, demonstration, deployment, and commercialization within the three focus areas of the SyracuseCoE: indoor environmental quality, water resources, and clean and renewable energy, as well as advanced building technologies. Session Formats: Panel Presentations / Workshops Panel organizers must submit a complete panel session designed to respond to a "big idea" in our areas of focus. Panels are to be composed of 2-4 presenters plus one moderator for a 60-minute session. Oral Presentations Oral presentations will be approximately 20 minutes in length, including time for questions. There will be 3 presenters per 60-minute session. Poster presentations Posters will be on display at the Oncenter throughout the Symposium. Poster presentations will occur 5-7 p.m. on Thu. Sept. 22 at the Symposium Reception. Student poster competition Student posters will be on display at the student competition on Wed. Sept. 21 at SyracuseCoE headquarters. There will be cash prizes for the top three competitors. Posters will also be displayed at the Oncenter throughout the Symposium as well as at the reception planned for Sept. 22. Abstracts (200 words or less), should include title, author(s) and affiliation and should be emailed to aclinkhammer at syracusecoe.org. Please be sure to specify which session type you are applying for. Abstracts must be received no later than 5 p.m., Wednesday, June 15, 2011. A confirmation email will be sent acknowledging receipt of the abstract. Acceptance and notification of the presentation type will occur before June 30th.
