This is a new full-time one-year term position with possibility of extension designed to help answer that question. Initial consideration will be given to applications received prior to 5:00 MDT on Friday, June 21, 2011. Thereafter, applications will be reviewed on an as-needed basis. https://hostedjobs.openhire.com/epostings/submit.cfm?fuseaction=app.jobinfo&jobid=216941&company_id=15947&version=1&source=ONLINE&JobOwner=962106&startflag=1 The purpose of this position will be to determine and carry out methodologies to assess and analyze how predicted changes in climate variables (e.g., precipitation, sea level) may influence resilience of access to drinking water sources and sanitation facilities which, in combination with other factors, determines the impact of climate on the global burden of diarrheal disease. Multiple climate change scenarios will be employed to globally determine changes in climate that may impact resilience of drinking water sources and sanitation facilities. The output from these analyses will then be integrated into World Health Organization models for resilience and global burden of disease. Results will be use to identify vulnerable geographic areas. Subsequent regionally-focused studies may then be carried out.
