Lake Superior Marine Museum Association Presents 

"Jay Hanson - Lake Superior Shipwreck Diving in Depth" 

                                                                        

 

"Lake Superior Shipwreck Diving in Depth" will be presented by The Lake
Superior Marine Museum Association (LSMMA,) in conjunction with the Lake
Superior Maritime Visitor Center on Thursday, May 12 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
at Canal Park Lodge, 205 Canal Park Drive in Duluth.  This event is the last
of the Evening Entertainment Series program for the spring season.
Admission and parking are free.

 

Jay Hanson, guest speaker and owner of Superior SCUBA Charters, will share
an introduction to shipwrecks which make up the cultural underwater
resources found along Lake Superior's North Shore.  The program will explore
the technologies and procedures used to discover, dive and document historic
shipwrecks as well as uncover the history behind the wrecks.  

 

LSMMA's Evening Entertainment Series programs are always free and open to
the general public.  The May 12 event will begin at 7 p.m. followed by an
opportunity to meet and chat with Hanson.

 

The LSMMA is a non-profit organization established in 1973 to preserve the
region's maritime history.  It also helps support the Marine Museum at the
Army Corps of Engineers' Lake Superior Maritime Visitors Center.  The
Association sponsors maritime-related educational and promotional programs
and assists in the maintenance and purchase of museum displays.
