Dear Great Lakes colleague,

 

It's your last chance to register for the 2011 State of the Lakes
Ecosystem Conference (SOLEC 2011) in Erie, Pennsylvania, October 26 &
27, 2011. 

Registration closes Wednesday, October 19, 2011.


Draft indicator reports are being posted at 
http://www.solecregistration.ca/en/indicator_reports.asp. Please check
back regularly to download this information.

These indicator reports are used to provide the current conditions and
trends in the Great Lakes and help to convey information about complex
issues in the lakes including: 

*	Resurgence of algal blooms
*	Disastrous effects from invasive species
*	Food web disruption
*	Water level impacts
*	Lack of aquatic habitat connectivity
*	Loss of coastal wetlands
*	Watershed stresses and high risk areas
*	Depletion of dissolved oxygen 
*	Presence of toxic substances and chemicals of emerging concern
and;
*	Problems associated with increased water clarity.
