State of the Strait Conference

Use of Remote Sensing and GIS to Better Manage the Huron-Erie Corridor 

CALL FOR POSTERS AND EXHIBITS 
Eastern Michigan University, Environment Canada, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife
Service,  and many other partners are pleased to announce the 2011 State of
the Strait Conference. The theme of the conference is "The Use of Remote
Sensing and GIS to Better Manage the Huron-Erie Corridor," and will be held
November 2nd, 2011 at Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, Michigan.
The conference will feature discussions regarding the growing importance of
GIS and remote sensing tools and analyses in the management of the
Huron-Erie corridor. The conference will formally convene at 8:00 a.m. on
November 2nd and conclude at 5:00 p.m. the same day. 

REGISTRATION OPEN 
Registration is free and includes breaks, lunch, and all conference
materials. The deadline to register is Friday, October 21st. Early
registration is encouraged! Please register at the University of Windsor,

CALL FOR POSTERS 
To ensure that all interested stakeholders have an opportunity to share
their experience in Huron-Erie corridor management, a poster session will be
held as part of the conference. We are currently seeking abstracts for
posters describing original research or case studies using GIS or remote
sensing technologies for environmental management practices. Accepted
posters will be featured in a central display area in the vendor exhibit
room. Posters should focus on the theme of the conference. 

EXHIBITS FOR VENDORS 
Exhibit space is available for a fee of $150 (waived for Sponsors).
Exhibitors will be provided with one table (including electricity, two
chairs, and wireless internet) in the Student Center Ballroom B for the
duration of the conference. To reserve a space, select "Yes" for the "I want
to be a Vendor" option on the conference registration page. Exhibit space is
limited, so please register soon. Registered exhibitors will be contacted
with further information.
