Lake Superior Marine Museum Association Presents 

"Captain Russell Roberts - The Inner Reaches of the Northwest Passage" 

                                                                        

 

"The Inner Reaches of the Northwest Passage" will be presented by the Lake
Superior Marine Museum Association (LSMMA) in conjunction with the Lake
Superior Maritime Visitor Center on Thursday, October 6 from 7pm to 9pm at
Canal Park Lodge, 205 Canal Park Drive in Duluth.  This event is the last of
the Evening Entertainment Series programs for the fall 2011 season.
Admission and parking are free.

 

Airline pilot, sailor and former broadcaster, Captain Russell Roberts will
share his experience of sailing through Canada's Arctic Archipelago.  Learn
why a rational man would choose to spend a summer in ice-choked waters on a
42-foot sailboat, with no hot water, little heat and less than a 50% chance
of survival.  

 

LSMMA's Evening Entertainment Series programs are always free and open to
the general public.  The October 6 event will begin at 7pm and be followed
by an opportunity to meet Captain Russell Roberts.

 

The LSMMA is a non-profit organization established in 1973 to preserve the
region's maritime history.  It also helps support the Marine Museum at the
Army Corps of Engineers' Lake Superior Maritime Visitors Center.  The
Association sponsors maritime-related educational and promotional programs
and assists in the maintenance and purchase of museum displays.
