Recap of Great Lakes Commission Semiannual Meeting in Washington, D.C.,
March 5-7 
The Great Lakes Commission (GLC) and its partners attracted hundreds of
Great Lakes policymakers to Capitol Hill earlier this month, despite a
snowy weather forecast and the effects of sequestration beginning to
impact U.S. federal budgets and agencies.

Longtime Great Lakes advocate Sen. Carl Levin (MI) was joined by seven
congressmen at the March 7 breakfast. Levin announced later that afternoon
that he would be retiring and not seeking re-election to the Senate in
2014.

Great Lakes Restoration At Work" that maps close to 1,000 Great Lakes
Restoration Initiative (GLRI) projects that are underway in the region.
