Notice of upcoming posting of environmental education program coordinator position

The Ohio Division of Wildlife (www.ohiodnr.gov/wildlife) will soon begin accepting applications for the position of Education Coordinator of the Old Woman Creek National Estuarine Research Reserve (OWC NERR) in Huron along Ohio's Lake Erie shore (www.oldwomancreek.org).  The OWC NERR is part of a state-federal partnership of 27 protected sites in the U.S. that promote stewardship of our nation's estuaries through integrated research and education programs (www.nerrs.noaa.gov).  The Educator Coordinator will have primary responsibility for planning, implementing, and evaluating programs for K-12 and community audiences. Major initiatives that will be facilitated by the Education Coordinator include the development of new visitor center exhibits and regional implementation of a national K-12 science curriculum focused on estuaries and coastal ecosystems.  The Coordinator will contribute to inter-agency partnerships and work with multi-disciplinary teams of scientists, educators, trainers, and natural resource managers to translate ecological research for a range of constituencies. This is a three-year, grant-funded project position (state classification: wildlife communications specialist) with potential for conversion to agency-funded status.  

Master's degree in biology, ecology, environmental education, environmental science, wildlife science, or related field preferred.
