[p2tech] So long, and thanks for all the fish!

Liz (and others)

Sorry if my earlier posting the wrong impression: this is certainly
turning a page in my life and career, and it takes me just a bit further
away (for the moment) from day-to-day, hands-on technical assistance
work which I've come to love.

But I would no sooner "leave" P2TECH, which I consider one of my
children (co-fathered with David Liebl long before such alternative
parenting schemes were considered in vogue), than I would disown one of
my real children (one of whom is just starting to make a name for
himself in energy policy, so don't be surprised if you see him on your
radar one of these days).

This is the first time in 19 years that I find myself without a
contractual tie to EPA, and the first time in more than 22 years that I
am not working on any P2-related projects (though I am doing some
lifecycle analysis). But you don't stop thinking about your life's work
just because the funds dry up - and like all good researchers, I have
various irons in the fire.

So, not nearly as final as it may have sounded. Rather, I just wanted
to take the opportunity to say thanks to those who made this particular
phase of my career such an enjoyable one. Because in the press of the
daily grind, it's easy to forget to say "thank you" sometimes.

P2TECH hasn't heard the last from me yet.

SB

P.s. - Liz, no, not the FBI. But close. I'll leave it at that. And
you'd be surprised how interested they are in environmental issues. You
can find allies in strange places, indeed.

Whoa! "knowledge capture and preservation, the semantic web, and
computer modeling of social behavior. " It sounds fascinating,
futuristic, and powerful enough that I'm hoping the FBI isn't sponsoring
it.... Seriously, it sounds full of possibilities and I can't think of
anyone better to connect it to rea world problems and viable solutions!

I hope you are going to stay on P2tech as a hobby - your contributions
are always excellent. Thank-you for your many pearls of wisdom and
nuggets of expertise over the years! Too bad you are too far away to go
out for a drink and celebrate the many productive accomplishments of
Chemalliance!

Liz
