The Zero Waste Network, in partnership with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, is conducting a series of workshops to help you save money, reduce risk and lower your impact on the environment. To register, or for more information see: http://www.zerowastenetwork.org/workshops/index.cfm Experts in pollution prevention, Environmental Management Systems (EMS), environmental regulations and energy efficiency will guide you in using P2 methods to improve your bottom line. Participants can choose from the two or three-day workshop format. The two-day format will prepare facilities to comply with the Texas Waste Reduction Policy Act (WRPA), which requires pollution prevention planning for some facilities. Through a series of hands-on exercises, participants will learn how to make a P2 plan succeed by engaging management and employees to indentify practical solutions. In addition, starting this year, participants can choose a three-day course, Pollution Prevention and Lean Principles, offered by University of Texas at Arlington’s Region VI OSHA Education Center. This special course offers in-depth training on greening your business with lean manufacturing, EMS’s and other green business tools. Completion of the third day can be applied as one of your electives towards the OSHA Education Center’s Safety, Health, and Environmental Professional (SHEP) Certification. 2009 Workshop Schedule • Dallas/Ft.
