Restored South Haven Lighthouse unveiled

A freshly-painted South Haven Lighthouse was unveiled after a $300,000 restoration project on the exterior and interior of the historic landmark in the Lake Michigan shore community.

For 60 years, the Port Clinton, Ohio, Lighthouse sat in a private marina on the Portage River, moved from its original spot on Lake Erie. Five years ago, a group of conservationists began to restore the lighthouse and it's now back across the river.

In Ohio, a restored 120-year-old lighthouse will float down the Portage River to its final destination along the Lake Erie waterfront, completing a years-long volunteer effort to refurbish the structure and relocate it along the lake.
